Meet the Fibre Artist Behind Bramble Blossom Studio
Hello, I’m Lisa — a fibre art, macramé, and mixed media artist. Based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, Canada, I create fibre art locally for clients across the region and beyond.
Bramble Blossom Studio is my creative practice and fibre art studio, where I design and create one-of-a-kind macramé wall hangings, woven tapestries, and thoughtfully crafted home decor. My work is rooted in tactile design and slow-made processes, with each piece created to bring warmth, texture, and quiet presence into interior spaces.

A Studio Practice Rooted in Craft & Intention
Most days you’ll find me in my boutique fibre art studio with my chocolate lab and studio sidekick, Poppy. We’re located on beautiful Vancouver Island, where the surrounding landscapes — ocean, forest, gardens, and shifting light — quietly influence my colour palettes and forms.
I’ve always been drawn to colour and texture. Early in my creative journey, I was fortunate to learn from teachers who generously shared their skills and introduced me to fibre art and mixed media design. One mentor guided me through my first large-scale textile work, created on a loom using wool that I carded, spun, and dyed myself — an experience that shaped how I approach materials to this day.
Bramble Blossom Studio grew from that foundation into a practice focused on original, heirloom-quality fibre art designed to be lived with and collected over time.
Materials, Sustainability & Slow-Made Values
Every fibre art piece I create is made using organic, sustainable, and responsibly sourced materials whenever possible. I prioritize purchasing supplies locally and within Canada, supporting other makers and small businesses along the way. When additional textiles are required, I work with fair trade suppliers and often incorporate upcycled or vintage elements — honouring their past while giving them new life.
At the heart of my studio practice is a belief in slow-made design — work that resists disposability and instead embraces longevity, care, and craftsmanship.
Inspired by the Natural World
Thematically, many of my macramé wall hangings and woven tapestries are inspired by the landscapes of Vancouver Island — coastal shorelines, forest paths, gardens, and the quiet rhythm of nature. These influences show up subtly through texture, movement, and tone rather than literal representation.
My aim is to create fibre art that feels grounding and timeless — pieces that settle naturally into a space rather than compete for attention.
