Milano Courtenay Pop Up — Macramé & Fibre Art, Nov 15

ostrowadmin · October 10, 2026 · Leave a Comment Filed Under: Studio Life & Exhibits

I'm bringing my handmade fibre art back to one of my favourite Courtenay spots: a one-day Milano Courtenay pop up on Sunday, November 15th, 2026, featuring a full display of my macramé and fibre art — with in-person shopping all day. If you visited my original display at Milano a couple of years ago, you'll remember what a warm, welcoming space it is. This time, I'm not just hanging pieces on the walls — I'll be set up at a table with a full booth of work, and you can take any piece home the same day. Where to Find the Milano Courtenay …

Macrame vs Weaving: Which Wall Hanging is Right for You?

ostrowadmin · October 1, 2026 · Leave a Comment Filed Under: Art & Home Decor

If you've been browsing handmade wall art, you've probably noticed two words used almost interchangeably: macrame and weaving. Both are fibre art, both hang beautifully on a wall, and both add texture that a flat print simply can't. But they're made in completely different ways — and those differences matter when you're choosing a piece for your home. Here's a calm, practical guide to macrame vs weaving, plus the modern hybrid style that bridges the two. Macrame vs Weaving: What's Actually Different? The difference comes down to …

Last season's show at Crown Isle was such a warm experience that I was truly touched to be invited back. If you missed it, this is your chance to experience handmade fibre art in the Comox Valley up close — and if you did catch it, come see what's new on the walls this year. Where to See Macrame Art in Courtenay As you walk …

Macramé Wall Art from Vancouver Island — Shoreline at Rest, Now Available

ostrowadmin · March 24, 2026 · Leave a Comment Filed Under: Art & Home Decor, Fibre Practice

There is a particular quality of light on Vancouver Island in winter — low and soft, the kind that turns the water silver and makes the shoreline feel quietly suspended. It was a walk at Goose Spit that inspired this piece of macrame wall art -- Vancouver Island's coastline distilled into fibre, knot, and driftwood. Shoreline at Rest began there. This piece is among the largest works I have created in the studio — a scale I return to rarely outside of custom commissions. At 58 inches wide and 42 inches tall, it commands a wall the way …

Best Wall Art for Neutral Interiors (A Design-Led Guide)

ostrowadmin · February 21, 2026 · Leave a Comment Filed Under: Art & Home Decor

Neutral interiors are often misunderstood. They’re described as minimal, simple, even plain. In reality, the most compelling neutral homes rely on something far more nuanced — material, light, proportion, and texture. And wall art plays a significant role in whether a neutral space feels layered or flat. If you’re styling a calm, modern interior, here’s what to consider. 1. Prioritize Texture Over Pattern In a colour-rich room, art often introduces contrast. In a neutral room, art introduces depth. Layered fibre, woven …
